Collective Worship

PACE visit every school in Guernsey to take collective worship or assemblies. This helps the schools to meet the spiritual needs of their students, encouraging them to think about various moral and social topics from a Christian perspective. The schools workers always aim to present a relevant and age-appropriate message in an interesting way, using different media and storytelling techniques.

Primary school assemblies are usually based on Bible stories, with a relevant message for the young people taught from the scripture. We often invite students to take part in acting out the stories or involve the whole school in an interactive interpretation of the Bible passage. At the end of each term the ever-popular PACE puppets make an appearance, and we have been graced with the presence of several real-life guests over the years, including super-heroes, FBI agents, a pirate and a mad scientist!

Secondary assemblies usually address moral and social themes on which we give a Christian perspective. Videos, music and quizzes are some of the ways we engage with the students and encourage them to think about the topics being addressed.
