Weekly Update

This week in primary schools, we will be delivering Transition Lessons at Beechwood, La Mare and Blanchelande. Last week’s first lesson at La Houguette went really well. The responses from the children and teachers were very positive. Along with the delivery of the lesson, we are also presenting over 600 copies of the ‘It’s Your Move’ books as a gift from local churches. Thank you to all the churches all over the island for gifting every Year 6 student with this great resource produced by Scripture Union.

BOLT at Vale will be looking at “God Loves Us” and at St Mary and St Michaels we’ll be looking “God Hears and Answers Our Prayers”.

In senior lunch clubs we are looking at the importance of making good decisions. We explore the questions: “How easy do you find it to make decisions?” and “Who or what might influence your decisions?” The Bible teaches that we can pray and talk to God about anything. We encourage the young people to think about who are the people they can turn to when they need someone to talk too.

At Elizabeth College we are leading an assembly on the importance of listening. Often we are good at the talking part of a conversation but not very good at being quiet and listening to the person. We focused on how Christians believe that God speaks to people today but sometimes we miss it because we aren’t listening properly. We concluded by challenging the students to pay more active attention to those speaking to them.

We would also like to remind you of our exciting week coming up. This will start with our AGM on Monday 24th June followed by Bob Hartman visiting 8 of our primary schools. Bob will then be running a workshop on Saturday 29th June. Full details can be found on the poster below. Please keep this week in your prayers!
