About.

Connecting schools and churches. Communicating Christian beliefs and values. Creating space to explore faith.

Our Team.

PACE (Practical Assistance in Christian Education) is a Christian inter-denominational organisation which has worked alongside teachers and students in Guernsey schools for over 34 years.

The PACE team possess a wealth of youth and children’s work experience. Made up of a mix of employed workers and dedicated volunteers from local churches, we facilitate a wide range of initiatives offered to primary and secondary schools in Guernsey.

  • Lisa Griffin

    Team Leader

I’m Lisa and PACE’s Team Leader. I’ve been with PACE for over 12 years, which is as long as I’ve been living in Guernsey. Originally from Solihull in the West Midlands, I married a wonderful Guernsey-man called Dave and have enjoyed making a home on the island. I find studying the Bible really interesting and have a B.A. in Theology from Westminster Theological College.

I attend Delancey Elim Church where I head up the youth work which I thoroughly enjoy. Outside of work, you'll most likely find me playing board games, eating chocolate and watching Disney movies with friends and family.

  • Sarah Snell

    Secretary and Schools Worker

My journey with PACE began in 2017. I work mostly in the primary schools and as the secretary. I enjoy getting to be creative in storytelling and exploring prayer with small groups during Prayer Spaces. I also love working with our volunteers and encouraging them in their development. I attend Les Camps Methodist Church, co-leading the children’s work there with a wonderful team.

I am currently studying Applied Theology with Moorlands College through SWYM.

In my downtime, you can find me reading a good thriller with my two cats cuddled up and a good amount of chocolate!

  • Jo Le Page

    Schools Worker

I joined PACE in 2024.  I was drawn to PACE as I feel it is so important to be able to tell children that they are special and to allow them to learn about the Bible in such an imaginative and vivid way.

I am married and have two children. I attend Fort Christian Fellowship at St Saviours Community Centre. I have a heart for leading people into worship and have been blessed to be able to do this at Delancey Elim as well as at my home church. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and our pets.

What we offer:

Assemblies.

Bible stories, drama, video clips, games, quizzes and a puppet or two. All of our assemblies are age-appropriate with relevant Christian teaching on a moral theme. These themes can be requested by schools or we can provide our own.

What we offer:

Prayer Spaces.

Prayer Spaces offer the opportunity for pupils to creatively explore and reflect on many aspects of life and faith. These may include thankfulness, kindness, self-worth, worries, hopes, forgiveness and peace, all within the setting of a classroom.

What we offer:

Lunch Clubs.

PACE runs weekly lunchtime clubs in schools across the island. We aim to provide a safe, positive environment where students can relax with friends, enjoy some games and discuss topical issues addressed from a Christian perspective.

What we offer:

Lessons.

We deliver lessons to support the RE curriculum across all ages, providing teaching on various themes. Our sessions cover the topics of Creation, Christmas, Easter, exploring who Jesus is an so much more.

We also offer the exciting 5-week ‘Walk through the Bible’ courses to Years 5 and 6 - teaching the OT (Old Testament) storyline to Year 5 and the NT (New Testament) story to Year 6.

You can make a difference.
