After the half term break, we’re back in full swing with a busy week. We have three primary assemblies at Amherst, Notre Dame and Melrose. We also have a Prayer Spaces day at Notre Dame, which was meant to be on Tuesday but because of the snow and school closures we are hoping will be later in the week.
BOLT clubs are on week seven, looking at the theme of “Jesus came to do good”. We spend some time looking at who Jesus was and what he did while he was on earth. The children have a chance to tell us what they know about Jesus.
This week we had two new courses of OT Mini planned, at Blanchelande and Beechwood. We will be trying to rearrange one of these because of the snow!
We will also have a lesson on Easter at Melrose this week with Year 4s.
We are looking forward to meeting students in our senior lunch clubs again after a good refreshing half term break. We will be thinking about how faith is putting belief into action. A bit like a bungee jump, you don’t know what it’s really like until you take that step…
Also we will be visiting Ladies College to deliver a series of lessons on the Christian attitude to War. We are looking forward to sharing with them and engaging in discussion on the topic.
Before half term the Y9 students we have been working with at Le Murier performed their assembly for the lower school students and it was amazing. We are heading there one final time to help them write up and evaluate their performance for their ASDAN qualification. We have really enjoyed this experience.
Finally we are heading to St Sampsons High School to deliver a set of assemblies on the theme of giving, drawing on inspiration from the parable of the Good Samaritan and encouraging them that we can all help others who are in need.
We hope you all enjoy the snow and stay safe and warm!!
